Marlon,

Why do you embarrass yourself like this? To begin with, you dredge up a four
year old post showing a newspaper report of a study by some Brit scientists
with no relationship to what I believe.

That was not an unrelated post. Unless there are two Mario Goveia's floating
around, the post I provided a link to was made by YOU. It is one of numerous
posts that you made in which you not only repudiated that global warming was
occurring, but also claimed that there was in fact global cooling taking place!

If in case you missed it, here it is again:

Mario responds:

I see you are still determined to embarrass yourself. As in the Tariq Siddiqui
case you apparently cannot make your case without falsifying what others have
said.

I am not a scientist and have no way of repudiating anything in such a complex
and controversial field of science where even experienced scientists are having
disagreements. You don't know beans about the science either.

What I was doing was showing that there was another side to the debate from the
"sky is falling if we don't turn only the western economies on their heads"
crowd, who claim universal consensus and claim that the matter is "settled".

Marlon wrote:

Your claimed reversal on your global cooling stance and acknowledgment that
there is indeed global warming, is progress I guess, ...

Mario responds:

Wrong again. I was reporting the position of others. I had no personal
"position", so there was nothing for me to "reverse".

Marlon wrote:

But you also claim that the rise in mean temperatures are too small to be
considered significant.

Mario responds:

The rise in mean temperatures is reported as 25% less than one degree Celcius
over the last one hundred years, so I am not planning to run out and buy
another airconditioner just yet.

However, here is what a real climate scientist and MIT professor had to say
about how significant this may be in the future:

In the interests of full disclosure this is the scientists considered opinion,
folks, not a peer reviewed study:-))

I guess changing views that one has had for most of your life is hard huh ..
you know, the old dog thing...

Mario responds:

I think you need to find another fire hydrant to hydrate, because I have again
exposed above your comical need to misrepresent what others say in order to may
whatever incoherent point you are struggling to make, and will continue to do
so if necessary.
