Perhaps if you took the time to read what Gilbert had written you would not
confuse his insinuation with those who think assisted suicide is one of their

My interpretation was that Gilbert was sarcastically insinuating that Americans
believed that death was only an option, since they, because of superior
American medical technology, had the option of living forever.
