Mario responds:

I have lived in America for 38 years with and among physicians and
have never heard anyone say, "In America today, death is an option".

Any American who says anything like this would need their head
examined or be in a straitjacket already.

Perhaps Google can help:

Mario responds:

Hey, Bosco,

Google can only help those who know what a discussion is about.

Perhaps if you took the time to read what Gilbert had written you would not confuse his insinuation with those who think assisted suicide is one of their options. Here, let's try again:

http://lists.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet-goanet.org/2009-August/182288.html

My interpretation was that Gilbert was sarcastically insinuating that Americans believed that death was only an option, since they, because of superior American medical technology, had the option of living forever. ***Yes, I do agree with Dr.Gilbert. It is an American utopia. In spite of all claims, there is no evidence that brain (or any other) cancer is curable. I know presently one patient suffering from cancer of tongue in Chinchinim, Goa. No medicine can cure him: radiation, chemotherapy, homeopathic drugs, allopathic modern drugs of any type, siddha, ayurveda, magnetotherapy, acupuncture, acupressure... He is doomed to die. Only prayer for a genuine miracle could cure him. But we cannot demand miracles from God. When God calls, we have to respond with an unconditional "Yes"... In spite of the modern American drugs, Edward Kennedy died of brain cancer. This is our sad experience in India (including Goa) with thousands of cancer patients. Perhaps Dr.Santosh could leave his cosy place in America (Houston, Texas), where he is doing wonderful work with brain and songbirds, and come back to Goa (Chimbel) and treat (=cure) our patient (and so many others) with modern 'miraculous' Western drugs... Then only could Mario conclude that cancer is sometimes curable...
Regards.
