Selma dear,
How's this line?
'I love my State, my Country,
But I also very dearly love the money that brings precious votes to my
kitty'.
Cheers

Subject: [Goanet] Marathas are not Goans
Marathas have never been Goans. While the Goan has a history of being
passive and peace-loving, the Maratha has a history of being a warrior
clan. One reason Maharashtra fell to the British was because bands of
Maratha thugs used to routinely go around raping, pillaging and destroying
villages. It was almost a relief to have the British render some peace.
Marathas have for centuries eyed Goa and now they seek to destroy it
through these divisive means.
I cannot even muster contempt for human beings who would plant bombs to
wound, maim and kill innocent, hapless children. They are beyond contempt.
I only hope Goan Hindus realise now that they are fanning the flames of a
forest-fire when they begin to play with matches of communalism.
Having said that, if Digu doesn't ban these groups, if India itself
doesn't act decisively everytime we see communalism rear its ugly head,
then it really is all over for India. We are on the threshold of becoming
another bastion of terrorism, now that these groups have weaponised.
Bombings will become just another thing we Indians will learn to live
with, just like the spitting and the slums.
Best,
selma
