*PRESS NOTE * *For Favour of Publication* Date: 31st January 2010. *Mega Festival of Tiatrs* Tiatr Academy Goa is organizing a Mega Festival of Tiatrs for the first time in the 117 years of History of Tiatr. The Festival cum Competition called “The First Popular Tiatr Festival 2009” will commence from 22nd February 2010 at Joao Agostinho Fernandes Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. In all 14 directors had applied for participation in the First Popular Tiatr Festival 2009 out of which 10 tiatrs were selected on lots. Four tiatrs which could not find place in the competition are:- 1. *“Soglim Khuxeal” * by Filipe Almeida 2. *“Maim Putank Tagdden Zokhta”* by Milagres Gonsalves 3. *“Ek Dhago Sukhacho”* by Anil & Olga 4. *“Amchi Bumika Sompta”* by Oldrin Sequeira A nominal ticket of Rs. 30/- only will be charged. The performance will be judged by a panel of judges. The awards will be announced and distributed in a special award giving function to be held on 06th March 2010 at 3:30 pm at Pai Tiatrist Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. An academic discussion on the performances of the tiatrs staged in the festival will be held on 07th March 2010 at 10:00 am at the Conference Hall of Tiatr Academy of Goa. All directors and script writers of the tiatrs presented in the festival will attend the discussion. The aim of this discussion will be to appreciate the good work done by the directors on one hand and to understand and make efforts to improve upon the drawbacks in the tiatrs if any.
