The ignorant are free to play Ostrich with head in the sand and remain super-ignoramus. They can also remain ignoramus about the thousands of Goans who have taken on competition all over the world (over the past 100 years at least) and done exceedingly well. Sure, others have also shone (shoes, perhaps) as Sir Paunches. For those who are unaware, the Sir Paunch system was imposed on Goans by the Military Govt of 1962 which summarily disbanded the traditional Goan system of local govt. i.e. the Communidades. That is how Goa got its illustrious and absolutely non-corrupt Sir Paunches. jc
