Frederick Noronha <[email protected]> wrote: Something I said seems to have touched a raw nerve. But there was no response to the substantial point I raised. It is here:
Was the Comunidade system one of "local government" or a semi-feudal manner of local land control? == RESPONSE == I suppose that it is best that we accept that at least one known feudal lord of GoaNet has chosen not to respond to the issue of his serial misrepresentations, some of which have been published in internationally accessible news-media, and not withdrawn. Let us accept that the issue is now 'settled matter'. If GoaNetters review the accessible (as in publicly archived) GoaNet posts from Summer 1998, they will note that every summer ....the feudal Lord of Goanet gets very antsy, and yours truly does the needful to assist. So now ....let us turn to the term semi-feudal (which, while having a 'legal definition' is akin to the possible term 'a touch of bronchitis', which, I hope, has no legal definition). Since Frederick Noronha has termed the communidade system as semi-feudal, I invite him to prove (or provide independent confirmation) that the Communidade of Carambolim (from which I hail) is a semi-feudal "manner of land control'. Once you answer the question put to you, feel free to ask your question. jc
