BC With due respect, and I don't mean this to be personal... but that "genteel world" could also be called part of a tiny Goan elite, a part of which never got accustomed to the demise of colonialism. Try GoogleTranslate or some Firefox plugin if needed.] It was also out of touch with the aspirations and perspectives of the bulk of Goans, and till date won't even concede how narrow the peak of the pre-1961 Goan pyramid was.
