Dear Carmen Miranda, For starters, I will remove all the other ccs beside yourself in copying this post to GoaNet. I do not wish to violate GoaNet posting rules even if you have. I will re-post this response to all the other ccs - separately i.e. minus GoaNet.
I can very easily write in and advise you why I would assign blame to each and every one of the ones I have 'blamed'. I will just repeat what I have been preaching on GoaNet and on my (not yet updated website) for about 11 years. Now ......Tell me why you would blame me for any of this mess that Goa is in today. I will then lay my defense - based upon your charges: a: I will start with my role in the Opinion Poll - albeit as a teen-student at GMC. b: I will then advise you of my struggles with GMC's deans with regards to the filth at GMC, including my "hauling up" to one dean's office who ordered me to remove pictures of the "dogs and cats sleeping in the children's ward GMC Panjim' from the official wall-paper which I edited or my plays which I wrote and acted in (at GMC nites) paroding GMC's degradation. c: I might add - for good measure - my interesting Inquisition by Raul Gonsalves ...the real one not the fake one who played nasty in the Heraldo with Fred Noronha .....courtesy Rajan Narayan. Raul thought that -as a Catholic - I should not moderate a symposium on Family Planning. The symposium was held and well attended. Raul's representative presented at the symposium. d: I might add the fact that we have assisted (without accepting anything in return - not even a Thank you .....even though we have received numerous Thank Yous) a significant number of Goan graduates - most from GMC - with placement in the West and rendered assistance to numerous Goans (mainly sailors) stranded in strange places. I will however NOT mention details of our family's role in the development and funding of the Old Aged home in a North Goa village or (for that matter) our assistance to school computer programs in Goa. We have intentionally requested anonymity for those contributions. Now .... what is it you were saying again and what is it about what I write that you have not been able to comprehend? jc BTW: There may be some Goans who might choose to relax with feni. It would not be me. Besides, I would not hold it against anyone who wished to relax with with a 'koptel' of feni. ======= 2010/10/30 Carmen Miranda <[email protected]> wrote And how about you Mr Colaço, are you totally blameless? I wonder what have you been up to ? I am frankly not clear at all about your point of view or what you are trying to say or imply. But people go on about the saving of Goa's ethos, identity and culture, and yet they are the ones who sold out Goa to foreigners and Indians from other states and became a minority in their own homeland....Goans in Goa are part of the problem of Goa being in the sad state it is today. They are the ones who vote for the fools and crooks that are ruining Goa. The Goans are the only ones to be blamed for what ever is happening in Goa today. Goa is being rulled by Goans since 1961 and in the past 4 + decades of rulling Goa, we have seen the result.....No, don't blame Congress and BJP or GBA or anyone. If the guys in power knew what the hell they are suppose to do, how to develop Goa, no matter what party was rulling, if there was an ounce of integrity. vision and knowledge and humility to ask for advise if you don't know....Goa would not be in such a mess. If the culture and ethos is just relax with a glass of feni and get on with your own life, at least let others who really care, do something without criticising them endlessly sitting in a balcão and trying everything to undermine genuine efforts to save Goa. There are many ways to save Goa and people have different priorities. Everybody's efforts are equally valid and should be appreciated instead of criticised. The problems are huge and the mess is even bigger. It needs to be tackled from all angles at the same time.
