You make a valid point/suggestion.

If we in Goa were under oppression as informed to some of our people by their parents, then, how come Portuguese names were given like Armando, Mateus, Jose et al, why not Rahul, Prem, Manohar or for that matter Liberation followed by the surname? Why borrow Portuguese names if we suffered oppression.

If one uses the word Catholic, soon the topic turns communal. If one is pro Goan that means he is Salazar. All this is the result of 50 years of brain washing.
