[1] Rajiv Desai: Bomras, a Burmese restaurant in Candolim, ....their
kitchen, where I barged in to talk to the owner chef, deserves to have
the health department raid it for unhygienic conditions.
[2] Floriano Lobo: Hope you have complained to the Health Department
in WRITING. Pls foward the same to us for info.
COMMENT:
1: I agree with Floriano
2: It is my understanding that FEW (if any) restaurants have Valid
certificates of Health Safety and FEWER (? below zero) of the folks
who handle food in these restaurants are medically cleared to handle
food. What is Goa waiting for...a Typhoid Mariamma or Diarrhoeappa?
3: Instead of asking for "Raids" Goans should be demanding that VALID
"Good Hygiene" Certificates are posted in a prominent place in ALL
restaurants and that 'waiters' carry photo ID cards with VALID health
clearances. I know that this opens another avenue for the baksheesh
culture, but that cannot be used as an excuse to condone filth (never
mind what anyone said about Goa 1510 et al).
4: Rajiv stands a good chance of being charged with "Trespass"....esp.
after acknowledging that he "barged" into the kitchen to talk to
whoever. The implied permission given to a patron to enter a
restaurant does not give that patron the right to barge into the
kitchen of that restaurant. Only 'gunda-vokils' can be expected to get
away with it.
