Yesterday, speaker while pronouncing his ruling over adjournment motion said, 'the issue of custom related matter that took place in Mumbai, as per constitution of India, comes under central government as such the issue can be discussed only in parliament and not in state assembly..the adjournment motion moved is rejected'. Should one say that it's a good ruling by veteran old man? Like in the past, and till date he has not allowed any adjournment motions to be taken up in the house under different reasoning - for which his name need to be included in record book!
Now my question is how and with authority did the speaker had allowed the discussions, debates on various issues which are related to central government to be discussed in the assembly in the past four years? If issues affecting state and yet related to central government could be discussed, debated in the assembly in the past and decisions can be taken to convey it to central government why not allow the presently burning issue to be discussed in the house? The present issue related to babush is in fact tarnishing the image of all state MLAs and equally that of state. These days, and more particularly during present assembly, Speaker appears to be insensitive to any issues related to state and its image. Last time when issue of "In Goa girls are cheaper than win" issue was brought up by Micky, speaker said, 'we cannot do anything...although what is publicized / happening is a fact'. Most Goans now openly say that in all certainty, speaker is showing his age. He should now take up advisory function for the party and not get involved in active politics". Enough is enough.
