That having been noted, it is a weird situation for Goan Catholics whose parents speak one language and they are taught another language as their so-called mother tongue. Then, they go to church and find the priests struggling with this horrible sounding nasal dialect of Marathi. Nobody is paying heed to those contrived and boring sermaos, anyway. Perhaps, that was the idea of the Hindu Right which called for Catholics to be 'swadeshified' i.e. to be converted from Catholics to Katlicks! What sez you, Man-Over? I doubt that those publications are run on their demand or on independent financial viability. So, somebody is putting the garam masala in the pot. Otherwise, I cannot see how they are still operational. c: I assume that Prostitution is legal. d: Worth repeating: I know some virulent Konkani in Devanagri-script-only folks from Fontainhas. They are neither able to read Devanagri nor speak Konkani in their homes (except to the servants). They communicate in Portuguese and English (in that order). So much for this humbug while Goa is being stripped of its natural resources, denuded of its vegetation and environmentally degraded. Thank you guys. Thank you for nothing.
