7 FILM FESTIVALS REVENUE 10 CRORES EXPENDITURE 80 CRORES- Shantaram Naik informed in Rajya Sabha.



Government of Goa’s commitment to IIFI is executed through Entertainment Society of Goa and according to the figures given by the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. S.Jagathrakshakan, in a written reply to the question of Mr Shantaram Naik M.P the State Government spent approximately Rs 80 crores in the last seven International Film Festivals as against the revenue of Rs 10 crores received by it during the said seven festivals.

Giving details, the Minister said that in

Further, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting spent around 14 crores under its Plan Scheme for the seven festivals according to the figures given by the minister.


GOA GETS 77 CRORES FOR TOURISM DURING 11th PLAN PERIOD

Union Minister of State for Tourism Shri Sultan Ahmed informed Mr Shantaram Naik MP in the Rajya Sabha last week during 11th Five Year Plan, Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned a total of 77 crores for Goa under various schemes.

Clarifying further Minister said that in the year 2008-09, for Integrated Development of Infrastructure for Heritage Tourism in Goa as a Mega Project, a sum of Rs 43 crore had been sanctioned.

In the year 2009-10 for Central Institute of Hotel Management, Goa Rs 12 crore and in the year 2010-11 for Tourism Infrastructure Development for Colva Coastal Circuit, South Goa 7.58 crore, were sanctioned, the minister said.

In the year 2009-10 for Destination Develoment of Auditorium and Convention Centre in Bal Bhavan Complex, Campal, Panaji Goa, 5 crore and in the year 2010-11 for the Development of Goa Haat at Panaji, 5 crore were sanctioned.

Minister further stated that in the year 2011-12 for Baga Beach Tourism Destination Development in Goa, Ministry has sanctioned Rs 4.98 crores, and previously, in the year 2010-11 for International Trade Mart at Goa 20 LAKHS and Celebration of Shigmo Festival during 2007-08, 5 LAKHS were sanctioned.


CONSUMERS GET Rs.283 as SUBSIDY PER CYLINDER

In reply to another question, Union Minister for State for Petroleum and Natural Shri R P N Singh informed Mr Shantaram Naik in reply to his question on subsidy given on cooking gas cylinders, that import parity price per 14.2 kg cylinder is Rs 656 and the Oil Companies and Central Government give a total subsidy of Rs 283/- per cylinder, out of which, Central Government gives Rs 22.58 as subsidy and Oil Company gives Rs 260.43.

During the period April 2010 to September 2010, Oil marketing Companies, namely, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Hindustan times Corporation Ltd. have supplied in Goa 49.61 Lakh domestic LPG cylinders and 5.29 commercial LPG cylinders, minister informed Mr Naik.
