Our Goan Youth have initiated four youth projects which enables them to connect with Goa and do something positive for poor Goan children (orphans, indigenous Goa tribal children, etc.). They are collecting items and cash donations, see information below. Please support them generously.

The Goa Sudharop table at the Los Angeles Goan dance on Dec 10. 3. The Goa Sudharop table at the “GOAN ROCKIN TO BOLLYWOOD” dance-a-thon on Dec 23 at Mehran restaurant in Fremont. 4. From Anjali … EYE GLASS PROJECT I am organizing an eye glass drive where people can donate new and used eye glasses which will be sent to Goa. Please drop off any new or old eye glasses at the locations above. It would help if you also have the original prescription and attach it to the glasses. THANK YOU! From Kiran and Leroy … FLIP FLOP PROJECT Try walking barefoot outdoors for a day this summer or winter! Now imagine poor young Goan children having to walk barefoot, on hot roads, on unclean and possibly unsanitary streets in Goa. Support our team and send flip flops to these children, they not only offer a healthier alternative to walking barefoot. It is also a simple way to offer a child or toddler a feeling of ownership while adding to their confidence and dignity. Our 2011-2012 goal is 500 flip flops. From Jason … LET’S DRAW A BRIDGE PROJECT My project, Let’s Draw a Bridge, is designed to help support poor youth in Goa. We will donate school supplies geared to help excel their learning process. Aside from cash donations which are most welcome, items being collected are: pens, pencils, notebooks, colored pencils, and crayons. Although new is preferred, slightly used items may be accepted. From the HEALTHY TEETH FOR TOTS PROJECT group The goal of this project is to improve the overall health of poor children in Goa by providing gift baskets of dental hygiene products. The gift baskets can include the following items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, dental floss, hand sanitizer, wash cloths, etc. We will also be accepting cash donations as well checks. Our aim is to collect enough of these donations to provide approximately 200 gift baskets by December 2012. Improving the hygiene of poor children in Goa can go a long way in terms of preventing more serious infections.
