I find myself in agreement with the thoughts expressed by Wendell that we
should erect a Memorial to Mario Miranda without involving Digamber Kamat, CM
of Goa, since Digamber has Mining blood on his hands amd Mario would not have
liked it.
This guy can fool most Goans in Goa but not all Goans elsewhere. Permit me to
narrate an incident that would bear me out. Recently on a Flight from Mumbai to
Goa, as is the wont of politicians of his ilk, Digamber was the last person to
board the Flight at Mumbai He was placed in the first row and I was in the row
behind him. On boarding the Flight he sought to dump his suitcase in the rack
above which another Goan co-traveller had already occupied with personal
effects. Digamber instructed the Cabin Crew to remove the belongings of the
Goan Co-Traveller to make way for his luggage, but the INTREPID GOAN WOULD HAVE
NONE OF IT AND REFUSED TO ALLOW THE CABIN CREW TO SHIFT HIS COAT. Digambar
insisted but the Cabin crew did not obey Mr. Digamber Kamat, Chief Minister of
Goa. Eventually, Digamber had to be content with his luggage being placed in
another rack and his Coat travelled the distance from Mumbai to Goa perched on
his lap.
HATS OFF TO THIS INTREPID , NO - NONSENSE GOAN. BY HIS ACTIONS AND WITHOUT
UTTERING A WORD TO DIGAMBER HE TOLD THE CHIEF MINISTER WHERE HE GETS OFF. THE
POLITICIANS PRIVILEGE ENDS WHERE THE CITIZENS NOSE BEGINS!!!!! BUT THIS MAN
WILL PRETEND NOT TO HAVE NOTICED THE GIGANTIC SNUB DELIVERED WITH GREAT APLOMB!!
