To Goanet - I strongly support Parrikar's decision to re-draft the RP2021. I had forcefully argued for it when I met him in February. Some of the members of the earlier committee were ROTTEN to the core. I am glad that the CM has now gone ahead and initiated a re-work of the document. My understanding is that while RP2001 will go into force in the interim, the eco-sensitive zones marked in RP2021 will remain in effect. Is this not the case?
Venita Coelho alleges, based on solid research (i.e. "calls" she got from random people), that this is Parrikar's "Great Scam" to help builders. I do not as yet know whether Ms Coelho is correct on this one. We will know soon enough. There is no way that this scam - if it is indeed that - can be kept under wraps for long. But it is odd that Ms Coelho slept peacefully through the last scam, aka the Goa Bachao Abhiyan (GBA). It is doubly puzzling that Ms Coelho is "glad that the GBA blah blah." So clearly Ms Coelho likes some scams more that others. Regards, r
