Why fight corruption? India's economy wouldn't be growing and growing were it not for the rise of corruption. The moment it was struck, the economy began to tumble. Bennet Paes

But he should not get too close to Anna, who to me seems to be sporting a dual face. On: 'to fight the endemic corruption that is corroding the soul of this nation" What nonsense! The soul has already corroded and eaten away. Only thing we cannot see it. It is the 'skin' that is rotting away in full view now, and should be falling off in a short while from now. floriano goasuraj 9890470896 www.goasu-raj.org ----- Original Message ----- From: "john eric" <[email protected]> To: "Goanet Lists" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 24, 2012 3:42 PM Subject: [Goanet] FIGHTING CORRUPTION KEEP ARMYMEN AWAY FROM POLITICS This view of Kuldip Nair in one of our local dailies is strange. Just like General McArthur was removed after the second world war, so also was Winston Churchill. General Eisenhower became President of United States! No person from the armed forces has become Prime Minister or President of our country. There is no comparison with General V.K.Singh and conclusions drawn like political ambitions whilst in service etc which appear to be incorrect. It was VK who struggled to stem corruption in the Army to bring high ranking officers and vested interests to book. Politics is everywhere. Why should he be kept away from continuing his mission against corruption after retiring? The idiosyncrasies of individuals and perceived misdemeanors (permitted to survive by the same authorities, but brought up to shoot the messenger, for which the law should take its course) of the messenger against corruption are irrelevant, compared to doing something about the message on priority! I think the nation requires every effort to fight the endemic corruption that is corroding the soul of this nation.=
