Would you know what is involved in getting elected as PANCH of the VILLAGE?
1. One has to go door to door inviting the prospective voters for a LADAINHA
or a Birthday Party at your home ( if you are a KATLIC). Serve them in paper
plates so that one can count the plates which btw are the votes. This
exercise must be done 3 to 4 months in advance.
2. One has to lick-up the prospective voters each day even if you do not
like him/her.
3. You have to promise them that their illegal activities shall be totally
and completely ignored.
4. One has to be ready to make one's house an OPEN MAD HOUSE a month before
the scheduled election.
5. On the D-Day, one has to organized 4-wheelers, 2-wheelers et al to
transport all your propective voters to the booth even if they are perfectly
fit to do the chore themselves.
6. One has to be ready to make a black face if a particular prospective
voter has crossed the other side and publish his/her bad deeds, especially
if one loses the election.
7. On the eve of the D-Day, one has to make rounds in the middle of the
night to pass on Rs. 500/- or Rs. 1000/- notes to seal the votes.
8. And the last thing to do is not to go to sleep the night before but keep
shuffling the voter's list to count one's votes. If found short, one has to
knock on the doors to wake up the new prospective voters to seal the deal
probably with double the amount mentioned above.
9. After all said and done, one has to PRAY HARD that ONE'S INVESTMENT and
hard work remains SAFE. Because, if not, One is surely reduced to a LAUGHING
STOCK so much so, one has to wear a dupatta across the face while moving
around, at least for some time. There is no HONOURABLE DEFEAT ANY MORE with
all these investments having been made.
Therefore, FL does not want to get into this 'rut' of pleasing people
because one can never accomplish this feat and because he can never go door
to door to give the voters the massage that they do not deserve nor build
castles in the air. For Your Kind Information, before you agree with
peanut-brains, who btw are a plenty in Amchem Pixeamchem Moidea, you keep
your basic understanding of FL whom you know very well in deed, that FL does
not want to be the KING. FL is the KINGMAKER.
BTW: you please tell the TWITS who make hay while the election-time is
around that FL is in full charge of the present Panchayat of Moira without
even having to disclose whom he voted for. One example is that FL has worked
to defeat his own neighbour who was aspiring to be the SARPANCH and
investing and running like a blue-arse fly everywhere BY ONE VOTE at the
very last MINUTE turning all dreams to SOUR GRAPES. Everyone knows this
fact but no one dares to talk about it.
And BTW ask the twit you are responding to and who is putting these voluble
suggestions as to what I should do, how many votes did his own in-house
brother get in the last Panchayat elections and if he himself has voted for
him. As for me, my record is around that I have gotten my own brother
elected twice, not once, not only to the Panchayat, but also to the MOIRA
COMUNIDADE.

Tonybab makes a good point. Florianobab should try getting elected as a
panch (at least).
That having been noted, Tony ducked the question on the table. From his own
account, Tony was witness to a serious illegality. What exactly did he do
besides writing to Goanet?
Did he, for instance, record the make of the vehicle, the colour, the
registration number and give it to the police, OR did he just continue
eating and drinking?
