Also possibly. I was really just asking whether people had any
vehement objections to the concept of copyright assignment (or
something with similar effect), so that information could be kept in
mind for the future. As I said, the idea of setting something up (or
doing anything else) was shelved for now anyway.

I should clarify too - by "for the time being" I meant "so we can
defer any decision about GPL3, 4, 5... indefinitely", not that there
was any actual or substantive change planned.

And please, people, this wasn't an invitation for an abstract
discussion-slash-flamewar about licenses in general. Yes, half of you
are wrong, etc etc, but take it elsewhere. I just want written
acknowledgments from people with code in the tree that they're ok with
GPL2+ so I can add that to the files.
