Yes and vibrant open source projects need other outside contributors - 
that's not the point that is being made. Bringing it into the stdlib 
guarantees a level of support independent of the community.  That guarantee 
doesn't depend on anyone one community members or even multiple members but 
by all of the maintainers of the stdlib.
