I'm a bit put out by the announcement of scheduled maintenence - for those that haven't heard, both the datastore and memcache will be offline for up to 30 minutes at 6pm EST on March 2 and March 9.
1. Extent. Because both datastore and memcache are out, we are left with no persistent storage options. Most non-trivial applications will not work. 2. Timing. 6pm EST is 3pm in New Zealand - primetime for my app. I know I live in a small country in the middle of the Pacific, and I'm sure it was chosen as the quietest time, but I'd have been much happier if it happened on a Sunday, not a Tuesday. The result will be up to 30 mins (I hope everything goes well and it is shorter) of "This app is down for scheduled maintenence" that WILL cost me customers - the chances are very good that prospects will hit the site during these times. So Google, please consider doing this on a Saturday/Sunday in the furture. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group.
