We're using Java and expect a 7x increase. With threading, and some optimizations we should bring that down to 3 or 4x - I guess we're a bit lucky, way less than a lot of people.
But, when you're over $1k/mo already and a small business, it's really hard to take. And more than the cost, the way this whole thing has been handled is very odd. Will explore the options to go to another cloud provider, but what a pain in the arse to move a TB of data and a handful of apps with a collective ~50k LoC and 30 million reqs/day.
