In my opinion, Sublime 2 seems to be the professional's choice right now for IDE. You can really customize / hack it to fit your coding style and It has great plug-ins available.
Definitely worth looking at. There are great video on youtube teaching you the tips and trick of sublime 2. I used to use TextMate which is very popular and I loved it but sublime is my new best friend, it speeds up coding a ton. also for reference 90% of my coding is on GAE with python and I code everyday with sublime 2.
