Have faith :)
I honestly think AppEngine team is one of the best, the fact that you can
actually interact with people behind the scenes is a proof
There are many products/stuff out there that act a lot like a blackbox, not
too related, but company-wise speaking, facebook platform developer
ecosystem is a good example, you can never interact with people behind the
scenes, they always hide themselves behind automated emails, bugs are
discarded, communities are destroyed etc.

On the other hand, I too wish AppEngine development/community was even more
active, bugs solved quicker etc, but the bug you mentioned seems like an
unimportant one, as the feature itself isn't graduated yet, some bugs do
get solved quick

The Stack Overflow switch was scary, as it is always a sign of a switch to
a blackbox-like architecture, S.O. isn't really for discussions, it's a
very hostile community imo, would be great if this community became more
active, my .02

As for limitations, it would be great if the restrictions "Jason Collins"
mentioned get lifted too, it's almost impossible creating artificial
bottlenecks to limit usage
