@Miguel, thanks for your suggestion. I think they're all good alternatives,
I'm on my way migrating out of app engine for outgoing email.

Email is perhaps by far the simplest of all the cloud platform services, so
my rant here has to do less with email solutions and more to do with the
administrative issues I found for resolving something I assumed so simple.

1- The unreasonably low emails/day quota, compared with all the other
quotas.
2- the fact that unlike _all_ other quotas, the emails/day quota does not
increase automatically when you set up billing for your project.
3- the lack of an ETA on when a manual quota increase request is going to
be processed
4- the lack of a customer channel for getting to the groups that would be
able to resolve this in a minute and also receive feedback on the problem
source.
