The google password may still be needed in the following scenario's:
1.  Pop or IMAP access needed
2.  Firefox Grease Monkey scripts
3.  Administrative things (reporting API or other API stuff).

If you aren't worried about the above then SSO works quite nicely once
it is setup.  You'll probably find that some of your users want the
ability to do something that does require the google password, so
you'll probably need to provide a way to change the google password
(since the option to change your password once you setup SSO actually
is for changing your LDAP SSO password, not your google one).

>From the other end of things (Google updating your AD password), would
you really want a 3rd party to be changing passwords in your
production system?
