Our school is currently preparing for a migration to Google Apps. We have about 1,000 users who currently use "Netscape Communicator" for their local email using POP3 which has downloaded many messages to their local drives. We have an application that can migrate email OUT of Netscape into another email system (such as Google or other) using IMAP to PUSH the messages into the other system.
Now, since I've read that Google Apps API doesn't allow us to automatically turn on IMAP for each user account during provisioning, we are thinking of doing this as a possible work-around to migrate all of this local Netscape email into Google: 1.) Build a temporary IMAP mailbox server. 2.) Use our application to PUSH messages from local drives INTO the temp IMAP server. 3.) Configure GoogleApps Email Migration to PULL messages from the temp IMAP server. Does this sound like a reasonable work-around/solution for this scenario? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks. -- W.G. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Apps APIs" group.
