Oops, my bad for github issue tracking. I guess I don't follow the
news enough :-).

Google Code launched Mercurial hosting last May for Google I/O. You
can switch version control systems in the admin panel, and new
projects get the choice on creation. Note that we don't do any
conversion for you when you change version control systems, so you
should use hg convert or something to build a local mercurial repo
before flipping the switch.
