OK, so far we have three common themes: 1. The finals are in the middle of northern-hemisphere summer vacations; move them toward the end. 2. There should be regionals. 3. Quals and Round 1 are difficult to attend due to exams or conferences.
We'll pass all of this on to our master scheduler, but I wanted to ask something about point #3, for Mahendra and Joel: For the qualification round and Round 1, there are several options each for when you can participate. Do your exams and your conference (respectively) make it impossible or undesirable to participate, even with the options? Thanks for all your replies so far -- keep them coming!
