I can tell you the story of how i got to the finals 2008. I did the qualification in Prague, Czech Republic where I was on a vacation. Then I did the first round in my home city - Sofia, the capitol of Bulgaria. Then I went to another vacation in our seaside and made the second round on a bench in the famous Bulgarian sea resort Slanchev Briag. The third round that qualified me for the semifinals I did in a really small computer club in the cute town of Primorsko, again at the sea side with several dozen screaming teenagers playing Counter Strike around. My semifinals were in Zurich from where I qualified, obviously for Mountain View near San Francisco. I competed also there.
So that totals to 6 different places in which I competed. Is this better story?
