Hey Marcos, In fact I am doing internship in Google right in the moment. I did not get invited to work in Google straight away. I applied in the ordinary way. But taking into account that I have performed onsite and also that I am already senior mine interviews were really short. I just had two 45 minutes interviews, nothing onsite and was invited for internship. So I really do think my performance helped me in my application.
But there is another reason t ostrive for the best places - this way you get to see Google offices (in my case they were two).
