No. The relevance here is Google Code Jam. So discussions about programming languages, algorithms, context procedures and rules are relevant. This isn't a 'Social networking site' it's a mailing list related to a programming competition. Postings jobs offered / jobs wanted are not relevant to this group. They are SPAM. To address your example: _maybe_ it wouldn't be offensive to ask about getting a football coach in a football discussion group.
