Hello, A good and rich IDEs that you may consider are Netbeans and Eclipse, both of them support many much languages other than c/c++. I don't know about facebook (remember the base development there is PHP), but for Google, the majority uses Eclipse. Emacs is powerful as well, but for specific type of development and specific type of projects. For example the Linux Kernel AFAK is developed using Emacs, but it's a Kernel at the end of the day :)
p.s. For Ubuntu, it's more than easy to get Netbeans or Eclipse, along with gcc and all needed stuff, by a simple search in the "Ubuntu Software Center" and click on "Install", and that's it! To be a developer under Linux is the easiest thing you can do on a computer. -- Amahdy www.amahdy.net On Sun, Sep 11, 2011 at 10:32, jitendra <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello friends > I am typically using turbo c for c/c++ programming on win > platform......but now i want to switch to linux so what type of ide > should i use....i would like to use native GCC compiler..... > But i am quite unfamiliar of good ide for projects in c/c++ > on Ubuntu or any Linux......and what are the ides proffesionally used > by devlopers at google or facebook.....
