Hey Jitendra,

Both Vim and Emacs are very popular and powerful programming editors and
both have a very strong following. You can find many big names that use any
of the above two and it depends totally upon your personal choice which one
you want to use. You may also use some other editor different from these.To
get yourself started with any of the above two you can get valuable help by
running vimtutor from the terminal in case of vim or by completing the
official tutorial in the help section, in case of emacs.

Also, there are many good cross-platform programming IDEs like Eclipse,etc
that are also used by many.

GCC comes pre-installed with Linux.

Personally, I use Vim.
