Dan, I have to agree with most of the users complaints.
The biggest problem is that google completely ignored the "i" in iGoogle. The tabs setup can be useful on the side or on the top for many users but for those users who only have 1 tab it is completely silly on the left and giving no option to move it to the top is unforgivable. The lack of polish in the new page is obvious and the mass roll out was ill-advised in even the best light. Doing so in a forced way and then ignoring the users howls of protest has made the problem an order of magnitude worse. In the end, all that Google has is it's good name since someone, somewhere will come up with a better search. I would recommend you stop pissing that name away needlessly.
