leiz, thank you for your quick response. I am running KDE 3.5.9.  I'm
not sure of the exact circumstances that cause the minimize gadget to
go away, since I don't notice it is gone until the next time I try to
use it, but it has happened about four times so far.  It seems like it
may be happening after I minimize then restore the window, but I'm not
sure.  If that is the case, it does not happen every time, but just at
random intervals.  I'll try to watch it a little closer and see if I
can figure out some more specific info.   Ben
