So, as you can read in this article (http://www.informationweek.com/
news/internet/google/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=220100440) it is
supposed that Picasa si not well adopted under Linux and this should
be the reason for discontinuation.

for newer versions, and i think even more don't know there is one
since the version of Picasa in the REPOSITORY (yes, yes, it is f.ex.
for ubuntu in the repositories) does not change!

So i hereby just ask for an official statement to that topic. What is
low adoption? It seems that there is just no motivation anymore like
this, and disappoints me a lot, since i considered Google a company
which also consideres the linux community. And by the way, Picasa is
just the best application for organizing your pictures which
guarantees adoption...

Anybody who shares my opinion, please MAKE NOISE here!
