Rather than make photocopies of rebate materials, I take photos to
be stored in my /rebates/ subdirectory. The problem arises if I need to print one of these images. I've tried a number of methods, but all
result in a lighter or darker gray for the 'white' backgrounds.

Is there a GOOD way of maximizing contrast approaching an actual photocopy?

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice,
but in practice there is.
