Perhaps you missed the bit in the thread I suggested, that the max
GGeoXml is likely to handle is about 3Mb

5,500 markers is bit demanding ;)  In the real world a few of us are
still on Win98 y'know!  And some are on dial up, poor souls.

You could slim KML file size down by throwing away quite a few
unnecessary decimal places, but I don't think it'll make any
noticeable difference here.
