Hey Berry- I can't give permission for you to use the mld server. That'd mean promising that Google will always maintain and support the mld server, and basically mean launching another API (which isn't a passing matter).
Re the terms of use and your page- my main concern with it isn't really what it does, but more what its purpose is. The usual reasons that I suggest people use static maps for are: 1) mobile sites, 2) thumbnails, 3) static->dynamic maps. Your site isn't #1, since it uses JS to reload images, and isn't #2, and isn't #3 since it never becomes a dynamic map. So my fear is that you're trying to create a lightweight API using the static maps tiles and possibly inspiring others to, which we'd like to avoid. If you're simply doing it as a static maps explorer (similar to my wizard), then that's fine. - pamela On Sat, Sep 6, 2008 at 6:41 AM, bratliff <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > On Sep 6, 4:48 am, "pamela (Google Employee)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: >> Hey Berry- >> >> I think that site looks fine; but look over the new Terms of Service >> once it's released (in a month or two from now?). >> >> Re lightweight API-- we're working on it.
