Can we track bicycle connected sensors? Can we track sensors connected to humans riding bicycles?
Taking the 2 previously mentioned TOU related discussion responses repeated below, which is correct? This is not a philosophical debate just needs more clarity, what objects can/are classified as - Vehicles. Possibly not a definitive source, more a good starting point - Wikipedia defines a vehicle (in the transport context) as; "... Vehicles, derived from the Latin word, vehiculum, are non-living means of transport. Most often they are manufactured (e.g. bicycles, cars, motorcycles, trains, ships, boats, and aircraft), although some other means of transport which are not made by humans also may be called vehicles; examples include icebergs and floating tree trunks." Key points here are, 'non-living means', i.e. mechanical or dead (perhaps once alive in the tree trunks case). The article goes on to say; "... Vehicles may be propelled or pulled by animals, for instance, a chariot, a stagecoach, a mule-drawn barge, or an ox-cart. However, animals on their own, though used as a means of transport, are not called vehicles, but rather beasts of burden or draft animals. This distinction includes humans carrying another human, for example a child or a disabled person. A rickshaw is a vehicle that may carry a human and be powered by a human, but it is the mechanical form or cart that is powered by the human that is labeled as the vehicle. For some human-powered vehicles the human providing the power is labeled as a driver." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle This would mean a human on a bicycle is not travelling on thier own, but providing propulsion to the bike, which is a vehicle. Take the following 2 lists, consider them based on the definition and existing examples that track sensors connected predominantly to bicycles; Vehicles = Motobike, Car, Lorry (truck), Bus?, Train?, Underground/ Metro train?, Tram?, Aeroplane?, Hot Air Balloon?, Aircraft, Rickshaws? Segway?, Yacht, Hovercraft... all are Mechanical and propelled/powered by some means other than human? They are still controlled/guided by humans (most of the time). Non-vehicles = Legs (walking), Bicycle, Skateboard, Swimming, Sailing Yacht (wind)? - Non-mechanical, people powered and controlled. Thoughts anyone?
