Wow, William, how cool is that! I did watch this for just one ZIP area north of Berlin, which - due to the known curves of the former Berlin Wall - was very easily to re-align. From that I derived a general "north east shift", but as you pointed out, there are much more variations of errors than just this...(to be honest, meanwhile I have seen that too :) e.g. look for some ZIP areas around Göttingen...)
I really appreciate your efforts. Your dx,dy measurements: Is this a secret you won't share? Probably one (me, or better the trainee) may get a page, enters the zip code and gets some sort of joystick in order to move the shape until it fits :) I think I'll drop this data source and go for more accurate data...
