I've seen this happen on one other system, which was a Windows laptop
that had a suite of security software installed that included the
Filseclab firewall. This was rewriting Referer headers at the TCP
level (so the rewrite does not show up in LiveHTTPHeaders or such
like) which caused the API key check to fail on every site, regardless
of the browser used. Privacy software that removes the Referer header
is not uncommon and does not cause API problems. The unusual thing
about this firewall is that it retained the Referer header but rewrote
it to "DELBY FILSECLAB FW".

Not sure if there is software for the Mac that behaves in a similar
fashion, but try temporarily disabling any firewall or internet
security software you have installed and see if the errors stop
occurring. If they do, you'll need to switch to using a different
firewall to avoid the errors.

Thor.
