I am talking about getting the client location of the browser that
loaded the mapping script Ross.

This is different to geocoding an address from a string and you will
not receive any error.

As far as not "bothering" to post a URL, I am asking what factors can
effect google from effectively determining a user's client location
from the browser's IP.

My code has nothing to do with this process.

The clientLocation is hard coded into:
http://www.google.com/jsapi?key=ABCD

If you need a URL to test then request the above script then search
for: "google.loader.ClientLocation", if it is null then google
couldn't determine your location from your IP.
