Say your instance of GeoXml is called gml
then you call

gml.mb.showMess("Say this message!",1000);

         My map is has a pop up transparent window with geoxml as you
        navigate that displays marker #s, How do I remove it?
        In a gray box....."showing geoxml elements..."
    you can defined your own messagebox and hide it...or you can
    update to the latest version
    and pass a quiet option to the class
    quiet:true

         Also,my map flashes twice before display and when I change my
         center
        position it does not affect my map with the sidebar, only the
         one that flashes at first.

    If I understand what you are talking about the default behavior of
    my GeoXml
    is to zoom to the extents of data that is loaded you can disable
    that with the option
    nozoom:true

        Thanks in advance for your help.
