Thanks... I read all that already yesterday before posting... -looking
at the ease with which the KML is dealt with when entered in the
search field on maps.google.com, I wanted to be very sure I was not
overlooking something trivial in the API, before embarking on hacks or
3rd party extensions (EgeoKML)
