Ok... dived into the geoXML thing this morning;
 I just wish there was some kind of documentation or at least a
reference of all the available geoXML configuration options somewhere
on the web! (!?)

btw: working on a map of Siena's Contrade (historic neighbours
competing in the Palio horse-race this summer)

http://explore.it/maps/importKMLtest.html
GGeoXML based test, works fine, loads the polygons and the icons (a
single icon for now), needs the sidebar functionalities badly...

http://explore.it/maps/importKMLtestgeoXML.html
geoXML based test - polygons and icons displayed; sidebar mouseovers
also in place;
one problem:
KML Multigeometries (standard point + polygon in order to have the
icon in GoogleEarth) are listed with 2 distinct items/checkboxes in
the sidebar; browsing through the minimized geoXML source to figure
out settings to fix this looks quite unpracticable, frankly!
