Since I see there are some posts about this in the past couple of
weeks, with no resolution, I figured that I'd throw the information I
was able to gather out there . . .

One of our clients contacted us this morning to complain that the
google map mashup at:
http://www.lakecountypassage.com/index.html
was no longer functioning on a particular PC in their operations
center.

Further investigation also showed that the mashup at:
http://www.lakecountyil.gov/Transportation/ConstructionProjects.htm
(although for the same county, this map was created and is maintained
by a completely separate department) was not functioning on that PC
either.

The maps are not loading at all--all they were getting was a gray box
where the maps should be. This behavior started within the past three
weeks (they were unable to pinpoint exactly when for me). The browser
is not failing the GBrowserIsCompatible() test: when we put in some
behavior to trigger if it failed, still nothing happened.

Unfortunately, the debugging I am able to do remotely, and what they
can install on that PC to do debugging with is pretty limited. All we
were really able to determine was that PC is running IE 6.0.2900.2180.
When told that it was probably a problem with the Google API in
combination with that outdated version of IE, they put in a request
for upgrade to their IT department.

So while their particular problem is going to be resolved, seeing the
on-and-off complaints here about problems in IE 6 in association with
recent API changes, led me to at least get the version number and toss
it out here so that maybe someone with better access to an
installation of that particular version/patch level of IE could do
some further testing. Unfortunately I don't have the time, funding or
access to do any further debugging myself.
