The thing is, it worked up until whenever it stopped working, and
nobody's touched configuration on that computer in years. (Probably
the reason why it's never been upgraded, everyone is hesitant to touch
it because it's a pretty specialized PC. Every other computer there is
on IE 8 now.) I wish they had told me exactly when it stopped
functioning since it should have been pretty obvious. They use that PC
to project this map onto a video wall on a daily basis.

I suspect from my google searches that it's some weirdo combination of
IE on some particular version of xp that has some problem with a
recent API change. I wish I could investigate further on that
particular PC and see if I could actually id what's going on, but my
manager isn't going to approve me driving out there to investigate an
issue that is most likely to be resolved via a (needed) IE upgrade.
